Yes, we deliver nationwide. Simply add your postal address during the checkout process and we’ll make sure your products are delivered with love.

The basic delivery rate applies to your delivery being couriered to major city centres.

Please note that you will be subjected up to R250 surcharge if your delivery falls outside of the main delivery centres. The amount will be invoiced to you before your order is arranged for delivery.

To promote circular economy those in Cape Town can return their empty Aurora Natural Skincare packaging directly.  Once Aurora products are at more physical stores we will be ready to implement a refill initiative.

  1. Wash and dry thoroughly your empty packaging
  2. Collect 3 empty Aurora tins or amber bottles
  3. Return in a clean and good state back to Aurora
  4. You will receive either a discount or a free sample of a product that is in Testing and soon to be launched
  5. Repeat with the next lot of empty packaging

Are Aurora Products SLS free, petrochemical free and fragrance free?2023-05-08T13:59:20+00:00

Yes – Because Aurora products are oil-based and not water-based, they do not contain preservatives. A paraben is a preservative. Aurora products contain NO parabens, SLS, petrochemicals, preservatives, artificial fragrances or other chemicals. 

According to EU Cosmetic Regulations which SA Cosmetics aligns with, you cannot claim ‘Free from’ + ingredient if the ingredient is not supposed to be present in the product.

Aurora Natural Skincare is also free from from Phthalates, and Silicones.

Which explains why you also don’t find Aurora products in the online store do not need to claim to be free of these ingredients. Transparent ingredient lists – what you see is what you get.

Every order receives a free customised Aurora Seed Paper Card.

The current Seed paper cards contain either (Basil &  Rocket) or (Carrot & Lettuce) seeds.  These Aurora Thank you Seed Paper card makes an ideal handcrafted, personalized Gift tag or can be planted.

Or from time to time you may receive a sample soap with your order instead.

Your products are made fresh in small batches by hand.

  1. You will receive an invoice immediately when you order.  (Please check your spam folder if the email does not reflect in your Inbox)
  2. Your order will be processed soon as you make payment (EFT / payment gateway)
  3. Collection can be arranged for the next day if the order is placed before 11 am. Delivery takes 2-3 working days within local centres.

Delivery takes place Monday to Friday. No deliveries take place on weekends or bank holidays. Collection can be arranged on these days with prior arrangement.

You order can take up to 7 working days if you have requested a Personalised order. For those outside Cape Town in outlying areas it can take 4-5 days (may be impacted due to load-shedding).

Yes – Fragrance Free Castile Soap made from Cold Pressed Extra-Virgin Olive Oil can still be purchased. You can place an order online or purchase directly offline. Sales are also run from time to time.

No. We do not. Our products are for sensitive skin. So, we are colourant free, mica free and free of any dyes.

Yes. Parabens refer to a class of preservatives (Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Butylparaben and Ethylparaben) used in cosmetics. 

Preservatives are required for water-based products. At present all Aurora Natural Skincare products are oil-based or water-free and therefore do not require a preservative.

However, should the need arise – cosmos certified natural preservatives will be used. 

Preservatives should always be used in water-based products. So please ensure that any water-based products you purchase should NEVER say preservative-free.

Why do you not use essential oils?2021-07-03T23:00:05+00:00

Certain essential oils contain allergens that cause allergic contact dermatitis (eczema) when in contact with skin. Tea tree oil, Lemongrass oil and Sandalwood oil are some of the essential oils that contain allergens. 

The Cosmetics Regulation 1223/2009 lists the 26 most-known allergenic substances. If you have sensitivities it is best to avoid soaps and natural skincare with essential oils and fragrances.

By law, if a product still contains essential oils or fragrances, specific dermal limits must be adhered to. In addition, these allergens must appear on the label of your cosmetic product.

Why does your 100g tin contain 95g of balm?2021-07-05T19:15:35+00:00

A 100 g tin can contain 100 g or 100 ml of water. A balm is heavier. We formulate by weight and fill packaging based on specific gravity (sg) value. Which is mass x volume. For our balms, the sg is 0,9. So 0,9 x 100 g = 90 g. This is the amount to be filled but we fill an extra 5 g. Unfortunately, adding more than 97 g overflows and gets stuck to the lid.

It is the same for the 15 g tin. The amount to fill is 13,5 g but just over 14 g is filled. We cannot display 15 ml as a balm is solid and must display in weight.

Please note old labels may still display 15 g or 100 g but the correct weight is provided in our Store for each Product.

We are updating old labels to remain compliant with EU Cosmetic guidelines and true to you, our valued client.

You can pre-arrange to collect your purchase at no additional charge in Century City, Cape Town, Western Cape. The collection is to be made within 1 week of confirmation that the order is ready for pick-up.

What is the difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin?2021-07-03T22:53:16+00:00

Dry skin needs more sebum (natural oils) and refers to a skin type. In the way, one has normal or oily skin.

Dehydrated skin needs to be hydrated as it lacks moisture. It is a skin condition.
